In the looks department this car delivers in spades, from the deep front Quattro-emblazoned grille to the sporty fixed wing on the back. Not forgetting the jumbo alloys that sit snugly in the wheel arches poised for action. The interior doesn’t disappoint either, beautifully crafted but full of high-tech design touches, it looks and feels expensive throughout. The figure-hugging heated leather sports seats are suitably low-slung and hold you in place well while you enjoy pushing the powerful turbo-charged engine to its limits.
The five-cylinder turbo-charged engine is what really sets this car apart from its rivals. By adding so much power into a compact and relatively light car, Audi has effectively given it supercar-like acceleration making it huge fun to drive. As expected with a Quattro it has superb grip and traction and the gearbox is quick and refined. But one of its most distinctive features has to be the sound, which is made even better by the added sports exhaust. A sporty little number that’s agile, precise and devastatingly quick, with a roof that can be lowered as you’re driving along if you suddenly want to feel the wind in your hair. What’s not to like?
With a 2.5L 394bhp engine, it has a top speed of 174mph and accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds.
